🐾Leave a Legacy of Love for Homeless Animals

It’s a common misconception that only the wealthy can leave a gift to charity.
The truth is anyone can make a lasting difference through a simple gift in their Will or Trust.

If you don’t have a Will or Trust, creating one ensures you, not the government, decide how your assets are distributed. Including Street Paws, Inc. in your plans is as easy as providing for your loved ones — and it ensures your compassion for animals continues long after your lifetime.

❤️ Three Simple Ways to Include Street Paws

1. Add a few sentences to your Will or Trust naming Street Paws, Inc. as a beneficiary.

2. Complete a Change of Beneficiary form to leave all or part of your life insurance, IRA, or retirement account to Street Paws.

3. Ask your attorney to prepare a Codicil (a short add-on to your Will) or Trust Amendment to include a bequest to Street Paws without rewriting your entire Will.

🐶 Specific Bequests

Through a Specific Bequest, you can designate all of your estate, a specific dollar amount, a set percentage, or specific property to Street Paws, Inc.

Here are examples of Specific Bequest language you may share with your attorney:

Example #1
“I give, devise and bequeath to Street Paws, Inc., located at 109 Bethlehem Rd., Locust Grove, GA 30248, all of my estate, including real and personal property, to be used for its general purposes.”

Example #2
“I give, devise and bequeath to Street Paws, Inc., located at 109 Bethlehem Rd. , Locust Grove, GA 30248, the sum of $________ (_________________ Dollars) to be used for its general purposes.”

Example #3
“I give, devise and bequeath to Street Paws, Inc., located at 109 Bethlehem Rd. , Locust Grove, GA 30248, ______ percent (__%) of my estate to be used for its general purposes.”

Example #4
“I give, devise and bequeath to Street Paws, Inc., located at 109 Bethlehem Rd., Locust Grove, GA 30248, [insert description of property or stock] to be used for its general purposes.”

🐾 Residual Bequests

A Residual Bequest allows you to provide for loved ones first, and then direct what remains to help the animals. Once all debts, expenses, and specific bequests are paid from your estate, the remaining amount is transferred to Street Paws, Inc.

Examples of Residual Bequest language:

Example #1
“I give, devise and bequeath to Street Paws, Inc., located at 109 Bethlehem Rd., Locust Grove, GA 30248, all of the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate, including real and personal property, to be used for its general purposes.”

Example #2
“I give, devise and bequeath to Street Paws, Inc., located at 109 Bethlehem Rd., Locust Grove, GA 30248, all of my estate, including real and personal property, to be used for its general purposes.”

💛 Why Designate Your Bequest “for General Purposes”?

When you designate your bequest to Street Paws, Inc. for its general purposes, your gift supports the Sanctuary for Life and all of our rescue, adoption, and community programs—allowing us to use your generosity where it’s needed most.

Your foresight ensures that the animals who have no one else will always have Street Paws.

🐕‍🦺 Trusts and Other Estate Gifts

Establishing a Living Trust or including Street Paws in your Revocable or Irrevocable Trust can be one of the simplest, most flexible ways to make a long-term impact.

Trusts allow you to:

Maintain control of your assets during your lifetime.

Specify how and when your beneficiaries—including Street Paws—receive their gifts.

Potentially reduce estate taxes and avoid probate delays.

Talk to your attorney or financial advisor about how to include Street Paws, Inc. in your Trust documents just as you would in a Will.

🌱You Don’t Need a Large Estate to Make an Impact

Many people think their estate is too small to make a difference. Nothing could be further from the truth - every gift helps save lives.
Even modest bequests help us provide food, shelter, medical care, and safety  to animals who would otherwise have nowhere to go. Each contribution, no matter the size, becomes part of the lifesaving legacy that keeps Street Paws’ mission alive for generations to come.

Types of Legacy Gifts

Specific Bequest: A set amount of money or property.

Percentage Bequest: A percentage of your estate (a flexible choice if your assets may change).

Residual Bequest: Street Paws receives what remains after your loved ones are cared for.

These options let you support your family first — and then the animals who depend on your compassion.

💵Tax and Estate Benefits

Including Street Paws, Inc. in your Will or Trust may offer tax advantages for your estate.
Bequests can reduce the taxable value of your estate, helping your loved ones while supporting a cause close to your heart.
